Uncompromising dedication is the prerequisite for Strieder’s unique development, only it enables new discoveries. Coincidences are therefore not events out of nowhere, but insights that reveal themselves when their time has come.

Consistency and determination, as Markus F. Strieder’s works reveal, characterise their creator in a special way. On the one hand, because their shaping requires energy and will, supplemented by the experience that years of persistent testing and discovery create. On the other hand, because their depth requires a sustained and unreserved preoccupation with the essence of human existence.

Anyone who encounters Markus F. Strieder’s work can experience that it does not require many words. What fascinates the viewer time and again about Strieder’s works is the art of simplicity, the poetry of the reduced forms, the sensual power of form and material, which here fall into one – the quiet, yet urgent presence with which these strangely alien, yet engaging steel sculptures and drawings confidently confront the viewer.
