The color with its expressiveness and sensuality is always at the center of my work.

With a nuanced harmony of shades, different surfaces, an intuitive choice of colors and the joy of experimenting, I condense dynamics and a complex coloring into melodic, sonorous compositions in my color painting.

To put it bluntly, Nicholas Bodde is close to a color painting that uses strategies of the constructiveness to realize color in the diversity of its appearances as painting. Aspects of a constructive image structure serve the clear and efficient organization of a color painting that aims at the presence of color in its multiplicity.
In this respect, the artist’s work as a whole can be understood as an inexhaustible research, an unsystematic investigation of painted color: its material and tonal diversity, the forms in which it resonates and clashes, and its genuine ability to be an adequate correspondence and powerful carrier of our feelings and emotions.
